In addition to regular instruction, Grade 5 & 6 students at St. Theresa Catholic Middle School will rotate through each curricular section within the Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) streams. They will be exposed to a variety of optional programming, in keeping with the middle school philosophy.
Modules will be project-based, inquiry learning and will be constructed on the curricula for that grade. Students will have the chance to explore a variety of areas to determine their interests for a more in-depth study in grades 7 & 8.
"Developing Lifelong Athletes"
The mission of the Sport for Life Program is to provide students exposure to a variety of sport and recreation activities in a Catholic environment with the focus on creating life-long active and healthy lifestyles. Students will have the benefit of building athletic skill, along with leadership qualities in a faith-filled setting.
"Arts in the Heart"
Are you looking for an in-depth arts experience?
The vision of this program, is to develop innovative minds and creative skills through exposure to the arts. Students will have the opportunity to uncover and cultivate God-given talents through the exploration of drama, music, movement and dance.
"Two Cultures - One Soul"
Since 1980, Elk Island Catholic Schools has provided Ukrainian-English bilingual education from the Kindergarten level right up through junior and senior high school.
The program begins at Jean Vanier Catholic School in kindergarten, and continues through the middle school years at St. Theresa Catholic School.
It is important to note that this is a bilingual program, not immersion. All core subjects, such as language arts, math and science, are taught in English, while other subjects are taught in Ukrainian to a maximum of 50 per cent of the school day.
