Elk Island Catholic Schools (EICS) provides a wide range of programs to meet the diverse needs of students within the context of a Catholic Christian community. By way of innovative classroom practices and progressive initiatives, EICS engages and inspires each student to reach their greatest potential. Students and parents can select from a wide variety of programs all of which are based on the Alberta Program of Studies. Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) Grades 5 & 6

In addition to regular instruction, Grade 5 & 6 students at St. Theresa Catholic Middle School will rotate through each curricular section within the Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) streams. They will be exposed to a variety of optional programming, in keeping with the middle school philosophy.

Modules will be project-based, inquiry learning and will be constructed on the curricula for that grade. Students will have the chance to explore a variety of areas to determine their interests for a more in-depth study in grades 7 & 8.

Sport for Life Program (All Grades)

 "Developing Lifelong Athletes"

The mission of the Sport for Life Program is to provide students exposure to a variety of sport and recreation activities in a Catholic environment with the focus on creating life-long active and healthy lifestyles. Students will have the benefit of building athletic skill, along with leadership qualities in a faith-filled setting.

Performing Arts Program (All Grades)

"Arts in the Heart"

Are you looking for an in-depth arts experience?  

The vision of this program, is to develop innovative minds and creative skills through exposure to the arts. Students will have the opportunity to uncover and cultivate God-given talents through the exploration of drama, music, movement and dance.

  

Ukrainian Bilingual Program

"Two Cultures - One Soul"

The Ukrainian Bilingual Program in Sherwood Park began in 1980 and has seen decades of success in academic achievement, global learning, and celebration of the rich Ukrainian heritage. From preschool/Sadochok to grade 12, the Ukrainian Bilingual Program offers a highly academic program in a faith filled cultural environment and provides children with a wealth of experiences and advantages that benefit them within the classroom walls and beyond.
